DR Congo is set to play two friendly matches ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, according to Radio Top Congo. The Leopards will face Algeria and Burkina Faso as part of their preparations for the tournament, with Burkina Faso having failed to qualify for the competition. The dates and venues for these preparatory matches have not yet been announced.
At the AFCON in Egypt, DR Congo has been drawn into Group A alongside the host nation, Egypt, as well as Zimbabwe and Uganda. These friendlies are expected to give the team valuable match practice, help finalize their squad, and build cohesion ahead of the continental tournament. DR Congo will be aiming to arrive in peak form, ready to compete with some of Africa’s strongest teams in the opening group-stage matches.
