Tunisia have received a major blow ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, with midfielder Mohamed Amine Ben Amor ruled out due to a serious knee injury.
The Etoile du Sahel player suffered cruciate ligament damage during the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final against Zamalek on Sunday. Reports from local media indicate that the severity of the injury rules him out of participating in the upcoming AFCON.
Ben Amor’s absence represents a significant loss for the Eagles of Carthage, who will have to adjust their midfield setup as they prepare for the continental tournament without one of their key players.
