AFCON 2017: Tunisia’s Eleven Against Liberia

AFCON 2017 Qualifiers: Tunisia Name Starting XI for Crucial Clash with Liberia

Tunisia are set to face Liberia this Saturday in Monrovia as part of Matchday 2 of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. With both teams eager to pick up crucial points in Group A, Carthage Eagles head coach Henri Kasperczak has announced his starting eleven for the encounter.

The Polish tactician has opted for a balanced lineup, featuring a mix of experience and youth. Aymen Mathlouthi starts in goal, with Hamdi Nagguez, Siyam Ben Youssef, Aymen Abdennour, and Alaya Brigui forming the defensive line.

In midfield, Salim Ben Jemaii, Hamza Lahmar, and Houcine Regued will be tasked with controlling the tempo, while Yassine Chikhaoui and Youssef Msakni will aim to provide creativity and support to lone striker Saber Khlifa.

Kasperczak has also named a strong bench, which includes:

  • Farouk Ben Mustapha (GK)

  • Hamza Mathlouthi

  • Ammar Jemal

  • Mohamed Amine Ben Amor

  • Amine Chermiti

  • Mohamed Ali Moncer

  • Fakhreddine Ben Youssef

Tunisia will be looking to maintain their strong form after a convincing 8-1 victory over Djibouti in their opening group fixture. Meanwhile, Liberia will be hoping to bounce back following their 2-1 defeat to Togo.

Kick-off is scheduled for Saturday evening in Monrovia, where the Carthage Eagles will aim to continue their march toward qualification for Gabon 2017.
