2017 AFCON QUALIFIERS: RWANDA CALLS UP RUSHENGUZIMINEGA FOR GHANA CLASH
Rwanda coach John McKinstry has named a preliminary squad ahead of the crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana, set for September 6 in Kigali.
The major highlight is the first-ever call-up of Swiss-based striker Quentin Rushenguziminega from Lausanne Sport. Talks had recently taken place regarding his potential commitment to the Amavubi, and his inclusion suggests progress, though it remains unclear whether he has officially accepted.
The squad features six foreign-based players and 22 locals, with a warm-up friendly match against Ethiopia scheduled for August 28 as part of final preparations.
