Mali Announces Dual Training Camps Ahead of AFCON 2017 Qualifiers
Mali coach Alain Giresse unveiled the Eagles’ preparation program for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, including two separate training camps and a friendly match.
🔹 First Training Camp:
📍 Location: Casablanca, Morocco
📆 Dates: June 1–7
The camp will be held at a sports center conveniently located between Casablanca’s airport and city center.
🆚 Friendly Match: Mali will face Libya as part of this camp to sharpen their form ahead of the qualifier against Morocco.
🔹 Second Training Camp:
📍 Location: Bamako, Mali (Ousmane Traoré Sports Center, Kabala)
🏁 Purpose: Final preparations for their opening AFCON qualifier against South Sudan.
Coach Giresse also named a 24-man squad, notably missing several key players due to injury, including:
Mamadou Samassa
Molla Wagué
Tonko Ahmed Doumbia
Cheick Tidiane Diabaté
Mustapha Yatabaré
Abdoulaye Diaby
Despite these absences, Mali aims to make a strong start to their qualifying campaign under Giresse’s guidance.
