AFCON Qualifiers: Liberia Names Squad to Face Tunisia – Junior Weah and Sherman Absent
As Liberia prepares to face Tunisia on the second matchday of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, head coach James Debbah has announced his squad list, which includes 16 foreign-based players. However, two notable absentees are raising eyebrows.
Timothy Weah, son of football legend George Weah, is not part of the squad despite being involved in the first matchday preparations in Lomé. Also missing is expected starting goalkeeper Nathaniel Sherman, who suffered a freak injury after cutting his left eye with a piece of glass at the team hotel.
Liberia, known as the Lone Stars, is looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Togo in Lomé. The upcoming clash against Tunisia is critical for keeping their qualification hopes alive.
