AFCON 2015: Zambia and Tunisia Set for Crucial Group B Clash

Zambia and Tunisia will meet this Thursday in a pivotal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B clash as both sides seek their first win of the tournament.
The Chipolopolo, who famously won the 2012 edition of the tournament, were far from convincing in their opener—a 1-1 draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo. Despite taking the lead in the first minute, Honour Janza’s side spent most of the match under pressure and were fortunate to escape with a point.
“We have seen how Tunisia plays and I must say they are good on the wings,” said Janza. “We also know their weaknesses and we will try to exploit them in the areas we have identified.”
With just one point, Zambia must avoid defeat to maintain a realistic chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
Tunisia, meanwhile, are also under pressure after being held 1-1 by Cape Verde in their opening match. Despite taking the lead, the Carthage Eagles allowed their opponents to create several dangerous chances and were eventually pegged back.
Coach Georges Leekens has responded with several tactical changes for the second matchday. Rami Bedoui replaces Hamza Mathlouthi in defence, Houcine Ragued comes in for Houcine Nater in midfield, and Youssef Msakni is given a start in attack.
Both teams know a victory would place them in a strong position ahead of the final round of group fixtures. With all four teams in Group B on one point after the first round, Thursday’s matches are expected to be decisive.
Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
