Zambia Unveils 27-Man Preliminary Squad for 2015 AFCON, Katongo Left Out
As preparations intensify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Zambia has announced a 27-man preliminary squad, blending youth and experience under head coach Honor Janza. The major headline is the omission of former captain Christopher Katongo, who had already been sidelined during the final qualifying rounds for disciplinary reasons.
The Chipolopolo, champions in 2012, are aiming to rebound from a disappointing group-stage exit in the 2013 edition. This time, they will depend on seasoned players such as Kennedy Mweene, Stoppila Sunzu, and Emmanuel Mbola.
