Afcon 2015 – GROUP D: TOTAL SUSPENSE AHEAD OF DECISIVE MATCHDAY 3

Nothing is settled in Group D of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, and that’s what makes it one of the most exciting groups in the tournament. After two matchdays, all four teams—Ivory Coast, Mali, Cameroon, and Guinea—sit on two points each, having recorded two 1-1 draws apiece.

Matchday 2 Results (Saturday)

The Elephants were once again held to a draw, but not without drama. Bakary Sako opened the scoring early for Mali, who showed impressive organization and resilience. Unfortunately, the game was overshadowed by the injury to goalkeeper Soumaila Diakité, who had to leave the pitch in tears due to a suspected muscle injury.
Max-Alain Gradel eventually saved the day for Côte d’Ivoire with a late equalizer, keeping their qualification hopes alive.

  • Cameroon 1-1 Guinea
Another spectacular match ended with the same score. Benjamin Moukandjo stunned everyone with a rare goal directly from a corner kick. But Ibrahima Traoré responded just before halftime with a splendid left-footed strike, rounding off an intense first half. Despite pressure from Cameroon, Guinea held firm.
