Feghouli: “We Expect a Fierce Battle Against Ghana”
AFCON 2015 – Group C Showdown Looms
Algerian midfielder Sofiane Feghouli is under no illusions—Friday’s clash against Ghana will be a battle. The stakes are high in Group C, widely dubbed the “Group of Death,” and Ghana, coming off a dramatic 2-1 defeat to Senegal, will be fighting for survival.
“It will be a difficult match for us,” said Feghouli. “Ghana will be playing for all or nothing after their loss to Senegal. As for us, we’re going into this match to win and secure qualification for the next round.”
The Fennecs opened their tournament with a solid 3-1 win over South Africa, but they know Ghana—despite their unconvincing start—remain dangerous opponents. The Black Stars are under pressure, and coach Avram Grant will be counting on a reaction from his side to avoid early elimination.
🔥 Group C: Nothing Settled Yet
With Senegal, South Africa, Ghana, and Algeria all in the mix, every match matters. Algeria sits in a favorable position after their first win, but nothing is guaranteed in this fiercely competitive group.
“We respect Ghana,” added Feghouli. “But we also want to show our strength and finish the job.”
All eyes will be on Mongomo this Friday, where two African powerhouses collide in what promises to be a pivotal and intense encounter.
