Senegal Sets CAN 2015 Budget at 168.2 Million CFA for Crucial Tunisia Clashes
Ahead of their highly anticipated double-header against Tunisia on October 10 in Dakar and October 15 in Monastir, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced a total budget of 168.2 million CFA francs for the two matches, part of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers.
The announcement was made in Dakar by FSF President Maître Augustin Senghor, during a press conference focused on the national team’s preparation.
Breakdown of the Budget
The 168,200,000 CFA francs (~$280,000 USD) allocation covers:
-
Player bonuses
-
Referee and official compensation
-
Internal transport
-
Hotel accommodations
-
Return airfare for the national team
Senghor emphasized the strategic importance of these matches:
“In the event of victory, the Lions could seal qualification with twelve points before the final rounds.”
Despite injury-related absences — with four key starters missing — Senghor reiterated the squad’s winning mentality remains unchanged:
“The group is still focused on victory.”
He also highlighted that:
“Logistics remains a crucial component in these qualifiers at every level.”
Objective: Six Points
The FSF president concluded with a clear goal:
“The six points remain the major objective.”
Senegal currently leads Group G ahead of Tunisia, with both teams on six points but Senegal boasting a superior goal difference. Victory in both legs would all but confirm Senegal’s ticket to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
