Algeria Wins, But Injury Concerns Surface After South Africa Clash
Algeria emerged victorious in a tough battle against South Africa in their second match of Group C at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. After trailing, Christian Gourcuff’s men managed to turn things around thanks to an own goal from Hlatshwayo and strikes from Faouzi Ghoulam and Islam Slimani, securing a 3-1 win.
However, the win came at a physical cost.
Slimani and Halliche Sidelined
Goal scorer Islam Slimani, who netted Algeria’s third goal, was absent from this morning’s training session due to minor injuries. He remained at the hotel for treatment. While the injury has been described as non-serious, it raises concerns ahead of Algeria’s upcoming clash with Ghana.
Rafik Halliche is also being monitored by the medical staff for similar issues.
Light Training for Starters
Meanwhile, the rest of the starting eleven were put through a light 15-minute warm-up session as the technical staff focused on recovery.
With two crucial group matches still ahead, Algeria will be hoping their injured players recover quickly to maintain their momentum in the “Group of Death.”
