AFCON 2015: Idrissa Sylla Fit and Ready to Face Ghana in Quarter-Final Clash
Good news for Guinea ahead of their crucial quarter-final clash against Ghana — striker Idrissa Sylla has declared himself fully fit and ready to contribute. The Zulte Waregem forward, who has been nursing adductor problems, missed all of Guinea’s group-stage matches but could now be a valuable reinforcement for coach Michel Dussuyer.
“I gave it my all in training and now I’m ready. The others played and we qualified for the quarter-finals, and God willing, I’ll be able to bring something extra to the team with my return,” said Sylla.
The 24-year-old participated in full training with the Syli National squad and is in contention to partner Mohamed Yattara in attack against the Black Stars. His return is a timely boost as Guinea looks to advance to the semi-finals for the first time since 1976.
