Guinea Announces 23-Man Squad for 2015 Africa Cup of Nations
Coach Michel Dussuyer revealed the final list of 23 players who will represent Guinea at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea. The squad features few surprises but notable absences, such as Ismaël Bangoura and Lass Bangoura. Ismaël Bangoura decided to step away from international duty to focus on his club career, while Lass Bangoura was excluded following controversial remarks against the national team.
Kevin Constant, who has been inconsistently involved during the qualifiers, retains his place, as does Abdoul Razzagui Camara. Two players from Guinea’s domestic league make the list, including goalkeeper Abdoul Aziz Keita from AS Kaloum.
Promising newcomers François Kamano (Bastia) and Bouna Sarr (Metz) have been called up despite never having previously represented Guinea at senior level.
Captain Kamil Zayatte, sidelined due to injury throughout the qualifiers, is fit and included to provide leadership at the back.
Guinea will face Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Mali in Group D.
