Congo Narrows Down Squad to 26 Ahead of 2015 Africa Cup of Nations
With the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) rapidly approaching, Congo’s national team, the Red Devils, continues its preparation. Coach Claude Leroy has trimmed his initial 38-man pre-selection down to a 26-player shortlist, signaling a clearer picture of the squad heading to Equatorial Guinea.
Notably, Christopher Maboulou, the Sporting Club Bastia forward who has never represented Congo before, is included and could make his international debut during the tournament.
Congo has chosen Senegal as its training base as final preparations intensify. As per CAF regulations, all teams must finalize and submit their 23-man squads by January 7.
