Tunisia Squad Announced for Crucial AFCON 2015 Double-Header Against Senegal — Yoann Touzghar Left Out
As anticipation builds for the double confrontation between Tunisia and Senegal in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Carthage Eagles coach Georges Leekens has unveiled his squad for the upcoming first-leg clash in Dakar on October 10, 2014.
One notable absentee is Yoann Touzghar, the RC Lens forward. Despite strong performances in Ligue 1 and widespread reports indicating that the dual-national (Tunisian/Moroccan) had expressed his desire to join the Tunisian national team, Leekens has opted not to include him in this round of call-ups. Touzghar had reportedly given his consent to FTF president Wadii Al Jari, making his exclusion a surprise for many Tunisian fans.
Tunisia will first face Senegal on October 10 at Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium in Dakar, before hosting the return leg five days later on October 15 in Monastir at the Mustapha Ben Jannet Stadium.
