KASSOUM OUÉDRAOGO “ZICO”: BURKINA FASO’S GROUP IS PLAYABLE BUT CHALLENGING
Burkina Faso has been drawn into Group A of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, alongside Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Congo, following Wednesday evening’s draw in Malabo.
Former Stallions striker and national icon Kassoum Ouédraogo, known as Zico, shared his perspective on the group:
“We find ourselves again with Gabon, who we know, and Congo, who are an ambitious team that plays a lot on the counterattack,” said the 1998 AFCON semi-finalist.
While acknowledging the challenges, Zico remains optimistic about the Stallions’ chances:
“The group is playable but difficult. We’ve gained experience. We’re not runners-up for nothing. It’s up to us to show that we have the ability to reach the second round.”
After finishing as runners-up in 2013, Burkina Faso will look to build on its momentum and prove its status as a strong contender in Equatorial Guinea 2015.
