AEL Limassol sign Nigeria striker Chinedu Geoffrey on loan from KS Samara
Nigeria centre-forward Chinedu Geoffrey has joined AEL Limassol from KS Samara on loan, bringing the 28-year-old striker to Cyprus for the 2026-27 season.
Geoffrey’s move was completed on 9 September and takes him from Russia’s Premier Liga to the Cyprus League. The loan runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to KS Samara.
The 1.92m forward began the current campaign with Samara, making two Premier Liga appearances and three Russian Cup appearances. He played 47 minutes in the league without scoring and featured for 102 minutes in the cup, where he scored once. He was shown a red card during his league outings.
Geoffrey joined KS Samara from FC Astana on 30 January 2026 in a transfer worth €330,000. His time in Kazakhstan included a Kazakh League Cup triumph with Astana during the 2023-24 season.
The Lagos-born striker has moved frequently during his senior career. Before joining Astana, he spent the 2023-24 campaign with LN Tieren, having arrived from Serbian side Radnicki 1923 for €150,000. He had previously played in Finland for FC Lahti and in Ukraine for Olimpik Donetsk, including loan spells between the clubs.
Geoffrey’s first recorded senior transfer came in September 2015, when he joined Dogan TBSK from an undisclosed previous club. He moved to Al-Nasr Under-19s in January 2016 before continuing his career in the Balkans, where he represented KF Skenderbeu B and Rabotnicki.
The right-footed striker now begins a new spell in Cyprus with AEL Limassol, having joined on loan from KS Samara until the end of June 2027.
