Ademola Lookman’s future has taken another dramatic turn after Inter Milan ended their pursuit of the Atalanta forward.
The Nigerian star, who has been at the center of one of Serie A’s longest transfer stories this summer, now faces an uncertain path as he looks for a move away from Bergamo.
Inter had chased Lookman for more than a month, hoping to add his pace and creativity to their attack. The Nerazzurri made two serious attempts, tabling a €40 million bid before returning with an improved €45 million offer that included add-ons. But Atalanta held firm, refusing to lower their demands.
Frustrated by the lack of progress, Lookman publicly asked for a transfer and has skipped training since early August, a clear sign of his desire to leave. Inter, meanwhile, have shifted their focus to reinforcing the midfield rather than spending further energy on the winger.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Premier League clubs could now step in, offering Lookman a potential escape route back to England.
