Ademola Lookman returns to training amid PSG speculation, set to stay at Atalanta
Ademola Lookman, the Nigerian international and former RB Leipzig star who joined Atalanta in 2022 for €9.3 million, has resumed training with his teammates after being linked with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Lookman, who missed Atalanta’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Lecce earlier in the week, was seen training on Thursday, calming the transfer speculation surrounding him.
Despite initial interest from PSG, Luis Enrique’s side appears to have cooled its pursuit of the 25-year-old winger, paving the way for Lookman to remain at Atalanta for the time being.
The versatile forward has made a significant impact since joining Atalanta, scoring an impressive 32 goals in 79 appearances for the Italian side.
Lookman’s standout performances include a memorable hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2023–24 Europa League Final, which solidified his reputation as one of Atalanta’s key players.
With PSG turning their attention elsewhere, Atalanta is expected to retain Lookman’s services as they aim to build on their strong performances in both Serie A and European competitions.
Lookman’s return to training signals his readiness to contribute further to Atalanta’s success this season.
Though transfer rumors had swirled, it now seems increasingly likely that Lookman will stay at the Italian club, where he has become an integral part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s attacking lineup.
