Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman declined to comment when asked whether his reported dispute with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini was resolved.
Lookman came under fire from Gasperini following Atalanta’s Champions League exit, where he missed a crucial penalty against Club Brugge.
However, the team bounced back emphatically, thrashing Empoli 5-0 at the Stadio Castellani. The victory featured an own goal from Emanuel Gyasi, a Mateo Retegui tap-in, a brace from Lookman, and a strike from Davide Zappacosta.
Speaking to DAZN after the game, Lookman focused on the team’s strong performance.
“The team won 5-0 today, we put in a good performance, everyone was at a high level and we showed quality,” Lookman told DAZN.
“We take every game as they come. We played well today, we have to continue this way and prepare for the next,” he added.
When Sky Sport Italia pressed him on whether his fallout with Gasperini was behind him, Lookman avoided the question.
Instead of answering, he shrugged, looked around, and eventually responded with a brief, “Finished?”
During his substitution, the Nigerian international was seen shaking hands with assistant coach Tullio Gritti but noticeably did not acknowledge Gasperini.
Atalanta will now turn their attention to their upcoming fixture against Venezia at the Gewiss Stadium.
