Adem Taous: Tunisian left-back joins ES Zarzis on free transfer

Tunisian defender Adem Taous has joined ES Zarzis on a free transfer, returning to Ligue 1 and signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2028.

The 26-year-old left-back arrives after a short spell with Bahraini side Al-Khaldiya, from whom he became a free agent earlier this summer before agreeing terms with Zarzis on 23 July 2026. His move adds specialist left-sided defensive cover for the Tunisian top-flight club ahead of the new campaign.

Taous, a left-footer who stands at 1.79m, has built his career in North African football, with previous spells at Club Africain and US Ben Guerdane. He first broke into senior football with Club Africain after stepping up from their U21 side in 2019, later moving to Ben Guerdane on a free transfer in September 2024.

In February 2026 he left Ben Guerdane for Al-Khaldiya, gaining experience abroad before returning once more to Tunisian domestic football. His highest recorded market valuation reached €350,000 during his time with US Ben Guerdane, underlining the regard in which he has been held in the local game.

By committing Taous to a two-year deal, ES Zarzis have secured an experienced Tunisian Ligue 1 left-back on a free transfer ahead of the 2026-27 season.
