Adem Taous: Tunisia left-back linked with Club Africain return

Tunisia defender Adem Taous, currently a free agent after leaving Al-Khaldiya, is being linked with a move back to Club Africain as the Tunisian Ligue 1 side weigh up options at left-back.

Taous, 25, is without a club following the end of his stint with Bahraini side Al-Khaldiya, which he joined in February 2026 from US Ben Guerdane. A return to Tunis, where he previously broke into senior football with Club Africain, is understood to be under consideration as the capital club assess experienced options ahead of the new campaign.

The left-footer established himself in the Tunisian top flight before moving abroad, making more than 100 Ligue 1 appearances and contributing seven goals and seven assists from defence. His performances in the domestic league, and in continental competition with minutes in both the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League, have given him a profile that would fit a side competing regularly at the top end of the table.

Taous first joined Club Africain’s senior set-up in 2019 after progressing from their U21 ranks, spending several seasons there before departing on a free transfer to US Ben Guerdane in September 2024. His subsequent move to Al-Khaldiya marked his first spell outside Tunisia, but his current free-agent status makes any deal straightforward from a registration perspective.

For now, Taous remains unattached, with Club Africain monitoring the situation as they consider whether to bring the Tunis-born defender back for a second spell.
