Adel Taarabt was officially introduced as a Milan player on Wednesday, and it’s evident that the Moroccan, loaned from QPR to the Rossoneri, isn’t one to hold back his thoughts. Known for his colorful personality both on and off the pitch, the former Tottenham player didn’t shy away from drawing comparisons with Mario Balotelli, another enigmatic figure.
“When Milan showed interest in me, I thought to myself: ‘They have the Italian Balotelli, now they’re getting the Moroccan Balotelli,'” remarked the 24-year-old forward, who hails from Marseille and counts Zinédine Zidane as his childhood idol.
Despite his young age, Taarabt is well aware of his talent and the expectations surrounding him. “People have been saying for a while that I should play for a big club. Now that I’m here, I want to prove my true worth,” he stated confidently. “Signing for Milan is a dream come true for me. It’s a significant change, and I’m eagerly anticipating my debut,” he added.
With both Balotelli and Taarabt in the mix, it’s clear that Milan manager Clarence Seedorf will have his hands full managing the talents and personalities within the team.
