Adel Mostafa has been handed a new responsibility as Al Ahly confirmed him as the general coach of the first football team, a move that signals trust in his experience and bond with the club.
The announcement comes at a tense moment for the Red Devils, who sit 13th in the league after a recent 2-0 defeat to Pyramids FC.
Sporting Director Mohamed Youssef explained that the decision followed consultations with the planning committee and was made in full agreement with club president Mahmoud El Khatib. Alongside Mostafa, Mohamed Naguib has been named assistant coach and Emad El Nahhas will act as interim technical director.
The club also confirmed Abdulrahman Issa and Mohamed El-Shehi as fitness coaches, with Amir Abdel Hamid working as goalkeeper coach. In addition, Walid Salah El-Din has taken over as director of football following the exit of Jose Riveiro.
While Al Ahly searches for a foreign head coach, fans are hopeful that Mostafa’s leadership can steady the team and restore belief.
