Adama Ba Joins Niort on Season-Long Loan from Bastia
Mauritanian international Adama Ba has joined Ligue 2 side Chamois Niortais on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 club SC Bastia. The move, confirmed on Monday by both clubs, is aimed at providing the 20-year-old forward with increased playing time.
“Capable of playing in all attacking positions, Adama is expected to arrive this evening in Deux-Sèvres before taking part in his first training session tomorrow morning,” Niort stated on their official website.
Ba featured in 12 Ligue 1 matches for Bastia last season, scoring three goals. According to the Corsican club, the player was courted by several Ligue 2 sides but opted for Niort in order to be closer to his family, who are based in Nantes — where Ba began his youth career.
The loan move is seen as an opportunity for Ba to gain regular first-team experience and continue his development.
