Lassana Palenfo will continue his leadership at the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) for another four years. This decision was made during the 46th ordinary session of the body’s Executive Committee, which took place in Sao Tome and Principe.
The majority of the Executive Committee members expressed their desire for Palenfo to seek another term in 2017 so he can complete the various projects that ANOCA has been working on in recent years.
Palenfo, who is 74 years old, has been serving as the president of ANOCA since 2005. He was re-elected in 2009 and 2013. ANOCA is composed of the 53 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) across the African continent, and Palenfo’s continued leadership will help guide the organization’s future efforts.
