Achraf Hakimi’s case reaches key decision date
Achraf Hakimi has been under investigation since February 2023 over a rape allegation, with Paris prosecutor’s office in Nanterre opening a case after a 24‑year‑old woman filed a complaint against the PSG star.
After years of twists and hearings, the investigating judge in February 2026 decided to send the Moroccan right‑back before a criminal court, where he could face trial. Hakimi and his lawyers have since appealed this decision, pushing the matter to the instruction chamber.
RMC and BFM TV now report that the appeal ruling will be made public on 19 June, a date that lands in the middle of the World Cup, which Hakimi is set to play with Morocco.
The case has also drawn attention to Kylian Mbappe, who first defended his former PSG teammate in a testimony and later submitted a new statement clarifying how his words were used, saying the judge misinterpreted his earlier account of what Hakimi allegedly told him about “caresses on intimate parts.”
