Achraf Hakimi has written his name into Champions League history after delivering yet another assist in Paris Saint-Germain’s Round of 16 second leg against Chelsea.

The right-back once again showed how dangerous he is going forward, heavily involved in PSG’s attacking play from his defensive position.

That latest decisive pass took Hakimi to five assists in just nine Champions League appearances this season, underlining his consistency and creativity on the biggest stage.

In doing so, the Moroccan international has become the first defender ever to record five or more assists in two separate Champions League campaigns, having also hit the five-assist mark in the 2024/25 season.

Hakimi’s numbers highlight how much his role goes beyond traditional defending. For PSG, he is a key outlet down the right, combining his pace, timing of runs and quality of delivery to regularly create chances for his teammates.

At 27, he is in his prime years and continues to prove why he is regarded as one of the most complete full-backs in world football, capable of influencing games at both ends of the pitch.
