Achraf Hakimi reacts after providing assist in PSG’s Champions League win over Barcelona
Achraf Hakimi has expressed his satisfaction after providing an assist in Paris Saint-Germain’s impressive 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Moroccan right-back delivered a strong performance at the Parc des Princes, helping the defending European champions secure all three points in their third league-phase fixture of the competition.
Hakimi set up Fabian Ruiz for PSG’s fourth goal in the 86th minute, putting the result beyond Barcelona’s reach after an entertaining encounter.
Speaking to Canal+ after the match, the 27-year-old admitted that the physically demanding contest had left him exhausted but insisted he was delighted with the outcome.
“I’m tired,” Hakimi said, explaining that both teams had covered significant ground throughout the match.
“We ran a lot, but we’re happy with the victory. On the pitch, I give everything I have,” he added.
The former Real Madrid defender also reflected on his attacking contribution, revealing his disappointment at failing to find the net despite creating opportunities for himself.
“I’m happy with my assist. I had chances to score, but the ball just wouldn’t go in. When you play against teams of this level, these are the matches you enjoy playing,” he said.
PSG’s victory further strengthened their Champions League campaign as they continue pursuing another successful European season.
Hakimi also reaffirmed the club’s ambition, expressing their determination to maintain their winning momentum and achieve further success this term.
