Achraf Hakimi returns to fitness before PSG's Champions League final against Arsenal

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi is fit and available for Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal FC after recovering from injury, according to PSG head coach Luis Enrique.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday’s final in Budapest, the Spanish coach moved to reassure supporters over the condition of the right-back, who has recently returned to full training following a spell on the sidelines.

“Hakimi is physically fit. He is ready to play tomorrow,” said the PSG manager.

While Enrique confirmed the Morocco international is available for selection, he stopped short of revealing whether the defender will be included in the starting line-up for the decisive European clash.

Hakimi has completed three full training sessions with the squad after recovering from a thigh injury sustained in late April during the first leg of PSG’s Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

The injury forced him out of action for several weeks and raised concerns about his availability for the final stages of the competition.

His return comes as a major boost for the French champions as they prepare for one of the most important matches of the season.

The defender has been included in the 24-man squad selected for the final as PSG seek to secure what would be their second European title.

The squad announcement also included another notable return. Forward Quentin Ndjantou has been named in the group after recovering from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since December 2025.

With key players returning at a crucial stage of the campaign, Enrique appears to have close to a full squad available for selection. The coach now faces several decisions ahead of kick-off, including choices in midfield where competition for places remains intense.

According to reports surrounding the team selection, Enrique is expected to make a decision between midfielders Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaïre-Emery, who has also been used as an alternative option during Hakimi’s absence.

For PSG, the return of one of Morocco’s most influential players provides a timely boost as the club prepares to face Arsenal in its bid for European glory.
