Achraf Hakimi and Mohamed Salah secured places on Tuesday, 19 November, on the shortlist for the 2025 African Player of the Year award, according to Globe Soccer, with both players also named among the three finalists for the continental honour to be presented on Wednesday in Rabat.
Hakimi continued his strong finish to the year as he collected more elite-level recognition.
The Morocco captain earned a spot on the shortlist for the Globe Soccer Best Player of the Year award, released on Tuesday, joining a field that includes Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé and Lamine Yamal.
The Paris Saint-Germain full-back already reached the last three for the African Player of the Year award and added another nomination to a growing list of personal distinctions.
Salah joined Hakimi on both shortlists after a standout season with Liverpool.
The Egypt forward impressed across the campaign and secured his place among the nominees for the Globe Soccer award while also standing as a finalist for the 2025 African Player of the Year title.
The 16th Globe Soccer Awards will take place on 28 December in Dubai, where players, coaches and influential football figures will gather to celebrate the year’s top performers.
