Moroccan defender Achraf Dari sustained an ankle injury during warm-ups ahead of Morocco’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Lesotho on Monday. The injury forced national coach Walid Regragui to make a late change, substituting Dari with Younes Abdelhamid in the starting lineup.
In a statement to “Site Info Sport,” Zouhair Dari, Achraf’s father, sought to ease concerns about the injury.
He confirmed that the injury is not severe and anticipated a swift recovery, estimating that his son would need no more than four days to return to full training.
Despite the setback, Morocco triumphed 1-0 over Lesotho, with a decisive late goal from Ibrahim Diaz securing the win for the Atlas Lions.
Regragui’s team continues to maintain their strong position in the qualifiers, underscoring their resilience even in the face of unexpected challenges.
