AC Milan set sights on Sassuolo star Ismael Kone
AC Milan are closely monitoring Sassuolo midfielder Ismael Kone after a recent scouting mission to watch him in action against Fiorentina.
Club scouts were in the stands for the Neroverdi’s 0-0 draw, focusing on the 23-year-old Canadian-Ivorian as they assess options to strengthen their midfield ahead of future transfer windows. Kone played 74 minutes that day and, while he only earned a 6.6 rating from SofaScore, Milan’s interest suggests they see upside beyond one performance.
Kone only joined Sassuolo in February 2026, arriving from Marseille in a €10 million deal and quickly adapting to Serie A life. Before that, he also spent time with Rennes, Watford, CF Montréal and CS Saint-Laurent, building a varied European and North American résumé.
Ismail Kone began his professional career with CF Montréal in Major League Soccer in 2021, making his debut that year and scoring his first professional goal in February 2022.
He then moved to Watford in January 2023, competing in the EFL Championship for over a year, before joining Olympique de Marseille in the summer of 2024, a step that paved the way for his current spell in Italy.
