The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that Armando De Rosa, a former justice collaborator and member of the Camorra (Neapolitan mafia), claimed during an interrogation that Mario Balotelli, the international footballer, started selling drugs for fun during one of his visits to the Neapolitan district of Scampia.
Armando De Rosa stated, “After witnessing the sale of doses of cocaine and heroin, as a joke he asked if he could also deal a few doses, and so he gave some to a passing customer. I remember that this drug addict was asked if he had recognized Balotelli, but he didn’t even believe it.”
Balotelli responded to these allegations on Twitter, stating, “Ahahaha, before I went to whores, now I take drugs, next time maybe I’ll take them in….SHAME ON YOU. You are using my name to make the audience.” The tweet was subsequently deleted, according to reports from Corrieredellosport.it.
