AC Milan, Lazio, and Inter Milan battle for Moroccan talent Reda Belahyane

AC Milan, Lazio, and Inter Milan are locked in competition for Hellas Verona’s highly-rated midfielder, Reda Belahyane, as the winter transfer window looms.

The 20-year-old Moroccan international has become one of the most sought-after talents in Serie A, attracting attention from some of Italy’s biggest clubs.

Lazio have already initiated discussions with Hellas Verona’s management, according to reports from Calciomercato. Meanwhile, AC Milan are closely monitoring the situation, with the club reportedly eager to gain an edge over their Roman rivals.

Rossoneri representatives were present at Verona’s recent 1-1 draw with Cagliari, scouting Belahyane’s performance.

Under contract with Verona until June 2028, Belahyane has impressed with his maturity and skill, making him a hot commodity in the transfer market.

While Hellas Verona would prefer to retain the young talent, the club has not ruled out the possibility of a January departure.

Sean Sogliano, Verona’s sporting director, acknowledged the likelihood of a transfer in an interview with Calciomercato.

“Reda Belahyane has shown great maturity and concentration, but in this type of club, we know that sometimes we must sell promising players.

If concrete offers arrive in January, we will evaluate them in the interest of the club and the player.

Replacing him won’t be easy, but the final decision will rest with the president,” Sogliano explained.

Inter Milan has also expressed interest, with Corriere dello Sport reporting that the Nerazzurri are weighing a move.

However, any club aiming to secure Belahyane’s services will need to meet Hellas Verona’s financial expectations.

The Moroccan is currently valued at €5 million, with an annual salary of €280,000.

Belahyane has made 13 Serie A appearances this season, contributing two assists. His strong performances at the club level have also earned him a spot in Morocco’s national team.

The midfielder featured in the Atlas Lions’ recent victories over Gabon (5-1) and Lesotho (7-0) during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

As the January window approaches, Belahyane’s future remains uncertain, but interest from Serie A’s elite suggests the young midfielder could soon take a significant step in his career.
