AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien is facing another spell on the sidelines due to a recurring injury. The Ghanaian footballer will be unavailable for his team’s upcoming Serie A match against Genoa on Sunday.
Essien, who previously played for Chelsea, has sustained a thigh injury and will undergo further examination in approximately ten days to determine the extent of his absence. This latest setback adds to a string of injuries Essien has experienced since the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
Since joining AC Milan from Chelsea during the winter transfer window, Essien has appeared in six Serie A matches and two Champions League matches for the Italian club.
