AC Milan explore move for Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui

AC Milan have made initial contact with Manchester United to explore the possibility of signing Morocco international Noussair Mazraoui this summer.

According to AfricaFoot, the Italian club have sounded out the terms of a potential deal for the 28-year-old defender, although no formal offer has yet been submitted.

Mazraoui remains under contract with Manchester United until June 2028, giving the Premier League club a strong position in any potential negotiations.

Mazraoui established as key Manchester United player

Since arriving at Old Trafford from Bayern Munich in 2024, Mazraoui has become an important member of the Manchester United squad.

His ability to operate on either side of the defence has increased his value to the Red Devils, while his consistent performances have attracted interest from leading European clubs.

The Moroccan began his senior career with Ajax after progressing through the Dutch club’s academy before moving to Bayern Munich in 2022.

After two years in Germany, he opted for a new challenge in England with Manchester United.

Mazraoui was a regular performer for the Red Devils across competitions last season, further strengthening his reputation as one of Morocco’s leading defenders.

Morocco star impressed at 2026 World Cup

Mazraoui’s form has also been important for Morocco at international level.

The defender played a key role in the Atlas Lions’ run to the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, operating primarily at left-back.

His tactical awareness and composure under pressure were among the qualities that helped Morocco make another deep run on the global stage.

Manchester United under no pressure to sell

With two years remaining on Mazraoui’s contract, Manchester United are under no immediate pressure to part with the Morocco international.

Any potential move to Milan would therefore depend on the Premier League club’s willingness to negotiate and whether the Italian side can meet their financial expectations.

For now, the interest remains at an exploratory stage, with AC Milan yet to turn their enquiries into a formal bid.
