Balotelli Scores but Mihajlovic Demands More: “He Must Improve”
While several of his teammates are away on international duty for the Euro 2016 qualifiers, Mario Balotelli remained at AC Milan and featured in a Thursday friendly against Serie C side Mantova. The Rossoneri claimed a 3-2 victory, with Balotelli making his mark by scoring a goal and providing an assist.
Despite his contributions, Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic remained critical of the striker’s overall performance and fitness.
“Balotelli? We played against a Serie C team, and it’s clear he’s not in good condition,” Mihajlovic told Premium Sport. “He must improve.”
The message from the Serbian coach was direct: Balotelli’s talent is undeniable, but his physical form still leaves much to be desired as he works toward reclaiming a consistent role in the Milan lineup.
