Adil Rami Open to Ligue 1 Return Amid AC Milan Exit Talks
Adil Rami’s future at AC Milan appears uncertain after a disappointing 2014–2015 season, mirroring the struggles of the club itself. The French international of Moroccan origin failed to impress Milan’s management, who are now reportedly ready to part ways with the defender.
According to reports, the Rossoneri are looking to initiate talks with Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais, two Ligue 1 clubs showing interest in acquiring Rami.
The former Valencia center-back, who still has two years left on his Milan contract, is not ruling out a return to France—especially if it boosts his chances of featuring at Euro 2016.
“I’m going to make a choice based on the Euro and my career. I’m going to wait, I’m patient… My main objective will be to get playing time and with a team that will be in the Champions League. Lyon? Why not,”
Rami told L’Équipe TV.
Rami’s desire for regular football and Champions League exposure makes Lyon, who qualified for Europe, a logical destination should talks progress.
