Gary Coulibaly Joins AC Ajaccio, Opts to Stay in France
Gary Coulibaly has decided to continue his career in France, signing with AC Ajaccio for the upcoming season. The French midfielder of Malian descent was officially presented to the press and will don the number 8 shirt for the Corsican club.
After spending the latter half of last season at Laval, where he joined following his departure from AS Monaco last winter, Coulibaly chose not to renew his contract with the Ligue 2 side during this summer’s transfer window. Despite interest from abroad — notably from Belgian club Ghent, Swiss side Grasshopper Zurich, and Dutch outfit Heerenveen — the 28-year-old opted to remain in France.
Laval currently occupies 16th place in the Ligue 2 standings after three matches, with two points accumulated so far this season.
