Abu Qir Fertilizers sign Al Mokawloon Al Arab defender Eyad Salah
Abu Qir Fertilizers have signed 21-year-old defender Eyad Salah from Al Mokawloon Al Arab as they prepare for their first-ever season in the Egyptian Premier League.
The newly promoted club have moved to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign, with Salah joining to provide additional defensive options. He plays as a central defender and will now be part of Abu Qir Fertilizers’ squad for their historic top-flight debut.
Abu Qir Fertilizers secured promotion to the Egyptian Premier League after competing outside the division throughout their history. Their rise means the club will participate in Egypt’s top division for the first time next season.
The club will begin its league campaign against National Bank of Egypt. The Egyptian Premier League is scheduled to start on 21 August, giving Abu Qir Fertilizers a short period in which to prepare for their first match at the highest level.
Salah, who is 21, arrives from Al Mokawloon Al Arab and will add depth to the centre-back position. His signing is the latest step in Abu Qir Fertilizers’ preparations for the demands of Premier League football.
The club were promoted alongside Asyut Petroleum and Al Qanah. All three teams will take part in the Egyptian Premier League next season after earning promotion.
For Abu Qir Fertilizers, the opening fixture against National Bank of Egypt will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the club’s history. The team will enter the competition as one of the promoted sides, while Salah will be available as part of the squad assembled for the campaign.
The move also represents a change for Salah, who has left Al Mokawloon Al Arab to continue his career with Abu Qir Fertilizers. At 21, the central defender will be making his contribution to a side facing its first experience of Egyptian top-flight football.
With the league set to begin on 21 August, Abu Qir Fertilizers will now focus on preparing for their opening match and adapting to the level of competition in the Egyptian Premier League. Their promotion, together with the arrival of Salah, marks an important stage in the club’s preparations for its debut season in the division.
