Aboubacar Sidiki Sidibé signs first professional contract with FC Sochaux Montbéliard
Promising 18-year-old Malian midfielder Aboubacar Sidiki Sidibé has signed his first professional contract with FC Sochaux Montbéliard, a club currently competing in France’s third-tier National league. The young talent expressed his excitement over the new chapter in his football career after securing a two-year trainee deal.
“I am very happy to sign a two-year trainee contract with FC Sochaux Montbéliard,” Sidibé shared in an interview with Africafoot. “I thank the club for giving me this opportunity.
I also thank my training club, Africa Foot, in Mali. I am really very moved to be part of this big family.”
Sidibé, born in Côte d’Ivoire but raised in Mali, caught the attention of scouts during a Sport Event Tunis tournament held in Tunisia, which ultimately led to his discovery and subsequent signing with Sochaux.
The young midfielder is known for his versatility on the field, able to adapt to various positions in midfield with a maturity beyond his years.
For Sidibé, joining Sochaux is not just a move to further his career, but a proud moment that he hopes will be the beginning of something bigger.
“My goal is to reach the top,” he said. “To achieve that, I will do my best to adapt to my new environment.
I came to France to continue working. It is really a pride for me to come and challenge myself elsewhere.”
Reflecting on his early development, Sidibé expressed gratitude to his former club, Africa Foot, where he spent his formative years.
“Africa Foot is a very good training center in Mali,” he noted. “Since I started there, I felt very happy.
I grew as a player with the group and the staff. It is truly a reference center in Mali.”
Sidibé’s signing represents a significant step for the young player as he embarks on a professional career in Europe, and it follows in the footsteps of other talented Malian players who have made an impact on the international stage.
His ambitions mirror those of fellow Malian youth prodigies, such as Ibrahim Diarra Kaka, the captain of the Aiglons, who is set to join FC Barcelona.
As Sidibé settles into life at Sochaux, his focus will be on helping his new team in their quest to rise through the ranks of French football.
Sochaux will soon face Le Mans in the third round of the French National championship, a key fixture in the early part of their season.
Fans are eager to see what Sidibé can bring to the table as he aims to make a lasting impression.
With a clear vision for his future, Sidibé is determined to make the most of this opportunity with Sochaux.
His journey is just beginning, but the young midfielder is confident that his hard work and dedication will lead him to the top of the footballing world.
