Aboubacar Sidiki Camara earns Burkina Faso victory in Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying

Burkina Faso moved to four points and provisionally claimed first place in Group F after beating Central African Republic 1-0 in Casablanca on Monday in the second round of Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying.

The match remained scoreless after a closely contested first half, but the Etalons broke the deadlock 15 minutes after the interval.

Aboubacar Sidiki Camara struck in the 60th minute to give Burkina Faso the lead and score the only goal of the match. Amir Abdou’s side then defended their advantage effectively to secure the win.

Burkina Faso’s position at the top of Group F is not yet confirmed. They must wait for the result of Benin’s meeting with Mauritania on Tuesday 29 September before their final standing after the second round is known.

The Etalons will now turn their attention to an international friendly against Argentina on 3 October in Buenos Aires.
