National Bank FC has confirmed it has accepted the resignation of its director of football, Abdel Wahid El-Sayed, bringing an end to his spell with the Egyptian Premier League side.
In an official statement, the club explained that the football committee, led by Major General Ashraf Nassr, agreed to the apology submitted by El-Sayed, who asked to leave his post due to personal circumstances. The board respected his request and moved swiftly to formalize his departure.
The club expressed appreciation for the effort and commitment El-Sayed showed during his time in charge of the football sector, thanking him for the work he put in and wishing him success in the next step of his career. El-Sayed had joined the current technical staff headed by Ayman El-Ramadi and was considered an important voice in the dressing room.
Before joining National Bank FC, El-Sayed had already built a strong reputation as director of football at Zamalek, a role he held for more than two seasons.
His resignation comes at a tense moment, amid intense negotiations between Al Ahly and National Bank over defender Amr El-Gazzar’s potential move to the Cairo giants, with the player understood to have agreed in principle to the transfer after being sounded out in recent hours.
