Abdulraheem Shola: Nigeria midfielder joins Kano Pillars on free transfer from Kwara United

Kano Pillars have signed Nigeria attacking midfielder Abdulraheem Shola from Kwara United on a free transfer. The 19-year-old, who plays primarily as an attacking midfielder and is right-footed, makes the move within the Nigeria Premier Football League after leaving Kwara United at the end of his spell with the Ilorin club.

Shola joins Kano Pillars with a current market value of €25,000 and arrives as a Nigerian Cup winner, having already collected domestic silverware early in his career. Standing at 1.80m, he adds height and mobility to the midfield options available at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Born on 11 November 2006, Shola has already built up notable experience across several NPFL sides. Before rejoining Kwara United in 2023, he had spells with Niger Tornadoes and Wikki Tourists, moving between the two clubs during the 2022–23 season. His earlier development included time at ABS FC, whom he joined from Nnewi United FC, before first linking up with Kwara United in 2019.

The switch from Kwara United to Kano Pillars continues a career path spent entirely in Nigerian club football, with Shola now taking on a new challenge at one of the country’s most established sides. The deal, completed on 23 July 2026, sees Shola registered as a Kano Pillars player on a free transfer.
