Abdoullie Manneh close to Club Brugge transfer

Abdoullie Manneh could be preparing to leave Mjallby after reported interest from Belgian champions Club Brugge.

The forward appears to have played his final match for the Swedish club, following Mjallby’s 2-1 defeat to Slovan Bratislava in Champions League qualifying.

Mjallby sporting director Hans Larsson previously suggested that Manneh’s departure was becoming increasingly likely. Both the player and the club are reportedly open to a transfer, while Larsson indicated that negotiations were already at an advanced stage. At the time, however, the identity of the interested club remained undisclosed.

That mystery may now be solved. Swedish newspaper BLT reports that Club Brugge are close to signing the attacker, who could take the next step in his career with the reigning Belgian champions. The club also competed in last season’s Champions League league phase, offering Manneh the opportunity to play at a higher level.

The move would come after two previous transfers failed to materialise. Manneh was previously linked with Olympiakos and Birmingham City, but neither deal was completed.

The forward remains under contract with Mjällby until 2027. He has scored 13 goals in 75 appearances for the club.
