Abdoulie Tamba: Gambian defender joins TPS from Norrkoping on loan
Gambian centre-back Abdoulie Tamba has joined Finnish club TPS from Norrkoping on loan, completing a move that takes the 20-year-old to the Veikkausliiga until 31 December 2026.
Tamba’s transfer was completed on 20 August, with the left-footed defender switching from Sweden’s Superettan to TPS in Finland. The deal will end on 31 December, when he is due to return to Norrkoping.
The 1.87m defender made four appearances in the 2026 Superettan before moving to TPS, playing a total of 57 minutes. He did not score or register an assist in those appearances.
Tamba joined Norrkoping from Gambian club Fortune FC on 20 August 2025. His move to TPS therefore comes one year after he left Fortune FC, giving him a second change of club since arriving in Sweden.
Born in Brikama Santo-Su, Tamba represents The Gambia and is listed as a centre-back. His preferred left foot gives him a natural role on the left side of central defence, while his height provides a physical presence in the position.
The transfer also marks a move between two different leagues for the young defender, with TPS competing in the Veikkausliiga and Norrkoping playing in the Superettan. His initial stay with the Finnish club is tied to the end of the 2026 calendar year.
Tamba has now completed his loan move from Norrkoping to TPS, with the agreement running until 31 December 2026.
