Gambian forward Abdoulie Ceesay is on the verge of completing a permanent transfer to German Bundesliga club FC St. Pauli following an impressive spell with Estonian top-tier side Paide Linnemeeskond.
The 20-year-old has garnered significant attention from clubs across Europe, including teams from Belgium, France, England, Denmark, and Sweden.
However, despite the interest, none of these potential transfers materialized.
Sources close to the player confirm that an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs, with personal terms not posing any issues.
The deal is reportedly finalized, with Ceesay poised to make the move in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Ceesay’s performance at Paide over the past five months has been exceptional, as he scored 17 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions.
His remarkable form has not only caught the eye of European clubs but also earned him a place in the Gambia national team.
He made his international debut in a 1-1 draw against Madagascar during the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in October.
Having proven his talent and goal-scoring abilities, Ceesay is now set to make a significant leap in his career.
FC St. Pauli, who are battling to maintain their Bundesliga status this season, are keen to bolster their squad with the young striker’s capabilities.
At present, Ceesay’s market value is estimated at €200,000, a relatively low fee for the Bundesliga club considering the player’s potential.
The deal to bring him to Germany is set to be a key addition to St. Pauli’s roster as they aim to secure their position in the league for the remainder of the season.
