Abdoulaye Traore swaps Morocco for Saudi Arabia in Baish FC move

Mali midfielder Abdoulaye Traore has joined Saudi Arabian club Baish FC from Widad Temara on a free transfer, beginning a new chapter in his 31-year-old career.

Traore, who plays in central midfield and is right-footed, leaves Widad Temara after making 47 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi. He scored once during that spell, playing 2,601 minutes in the Moroccan top-flight competition.

The move takes the experienced midfielder outside Morocco for the first time since his arrival at Al-Wahda SC in August 2023. Traore joined the club from JS Soualem on a free transfer before moving to Widad Temara in January 2024, again without a fee being paid.

His latest switch continues a career that has included spells with several Moroccan clubs. Before joining JS Soualem, he represented AS Sale, having moved there from Widad Temara in 2018. He also played for Rapide Oued Zem and CA Khenifra, while beginning his recorded club career with Malian side Djoliba AC.

Traore’s recent record also includes 10 appearances in the Jindal League, where he provided one assist, as well as two appearances in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine. His experience across midfield and his long involvement in North African football now form the background to his move to Baish FC.

The transfer gives Baish FC a midfielder with competitive experience in Morocco’s domestic game and a career that has already taken him through clubs in Mali and Morocco. Traore’s arrival also marks a change of footballing environment after more than a decade of senior club moves across those countries.

Widad Temara were the latest of his former Moroccan employers, while Baish FC become the newest club on a career record stretching back to Djoliba AC. The move was completed on 14 August 2026.
